North Carroll Club (NCSC) is committed to providing the best possible development environment for our players. We want to share an important change to youth soccer age group registration that will take effect beginning with the 2026–2027 season.

After extensive feedback from clubs, coaches, parents, and players nationwide, US Youth Soccer (USYS), US Club Soccer, and AYSO have announced a shift from the calendar birth year system (January 1–December 31) to a seasonal/school-year system (August 1–July 31). This change is designed to better align team eligibility with school grade levels, allow more players to compete with their classmates, and reduce challenges for “trapped players” whose birthdates previously caused misalignment during key academic transitions. To continue participating in USYS- and US Club Soccer–sanctioned leagues and competitions, NCSC is required to adopt this policy.

The current birth-year system will remain in place for the 2025–2026 season. Beginning in fall 2026, leagues we compete in, including EDP and CMSA, will use the new August 1–July 31 cutoff.
